Verónica Zavala Was born in Tlalnepantla, Mexico. She was raised in Mexico City until she emigrated to Utah in the summer of 2008. In 2015, Veronica graduated with an Associates Degree in Social Work from Salt Lake Community College. In 2019, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at the University of Utah.
Veronica first got involved in Comunidades Unidas (CU) as a volunteer in 2010 and became a promotora in 2011. During Spring 2015, she did an internship at CU as part of her Associate’s degree and she has been collaborating with CU since then. She has worked in different programs like Juntos Hacia Tu Salud, Bridging Communities and Clinics, Breast Cancer Awareness, and Outreach events. She is currently coordinating the Immigration Clinic and is one of our DOJ Accredited Representatives in CU. Veronica loves to listen to music, dance and read. Vero enjoys listening to Latino-American music and
has a book collection of her favorite authors: Isabel Allende, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Ildefonso Falcones, and Jane Austen.
