Dear Friends and Allies,
Update: The HB209 bill has been signed by Governor Cox on March 17, 2023. But the fight is not over, please continue to sign the petition for HB209 to be reviewed.
We urge you to sign the following letter to Governor Cox, asking him to now review bill HB209 which would require a birth certificate for students to participate in school sports.
This bill denies access to students who are immigrants, families struggling with housing instability, naturalized U.S. citizens, LGBTQI+ youth, foster children, and individuals born out of state who do not have access to alternative documentation in the form of a state-issued ID or federal documentation.

Actualizacion: La propuesta de ley HB209 ha sido firmada por el Governador Cox el 17 de Marzo del 2023. Aun asi la lucha no acaba, por favor continuen firmando la peticion para que la ley HB209 sea revisada.
Les pedimos que consideren en firmar la siguiente carta dirigida al Governador Cox, pidiendole que se revise la ley HB209 que requeriria un acta de nacimiento para participar en deportes en la escuela.
Esta propuesta de ley niega el acceso a estudiantes que son inmigrantes, familias luchando con inestabilidad de vivienda, ciudadanxs naturalizadxs, juventud LGBTQI+, niñxs en cuidado de foster, e individuales que nacieron fuera del estado que no tienen acceso a la documentacion alternativa que se requiere en forma de identificacion emitida por el estado o documentacion federal.
