An update from our Executive Director

I would like to share some personal news with you today. After 11 years at Comunidades Unidas, and nearly 8 as Executive Director, I will be stepping down from my position at the end of 2019 as my partner and I are moving out of state.

It has been a privilege and honor to have been part of CU for over a decade, especially because I had the opportunity to work with the most passionate and committed group of people you can imagine. Comunidades Unidas is an amazing organization made up of individuals with a personal commitment to social justice.

I cannot even begin to express how proud I am of every single one of our team members for giving their all for the cause. My community and colleagues inspired me to do this work and I will be forever grateful for allowing me to lead this amazing organization.

As you know, Comunidades Unidas just celebrated its 20th year anniversary last week. CU has grown tremendously over the past few years, the organization is in a strong financial position, and we're collectively advancing immigrant rights in Utah. Our programs are running smoothly thanks to our amazing team, and our board and I are fully committed to a smooth transition.

I will greatly miss my colleagues and working with all of you but my commitment to this work will stay with me wherever I go.  I am humbled and honored to have been part of CU’s history and for the opportunity to contribute to a great organization and to the immigrant rights movement. I am confident about the future of CU and excited for what the next 20 years will bring.

¡Adelante!
