THE SALT LAKE COUNTY
IMMIGRANT PEOPLES AGENDA CAMPAIGN

What is it?
The Salt Lake County Immigrant People’s Agenda (SLCIPA) is a community-led, multi-year power-building campaign committed to ensuring that immigrants and working-class community members can shape the policies, systems, and conditions that impact their daily lives. Supported by Comunidades Unidas, SLCIPA brings together immigrant and working-class community members across the county to develop leadership, build collective power, and take strategic action for meaningful change.
SLCIPA emerged after a year of house meetings and listening sessions where hundreds of working-class individuals identified the barriers they face—from housing and education challenges to workplace exploitation and harmful immigration enforcement practices. These conversations led to a shared commitment: to build a strong base of leaders capable of moving decision-makers, shifting public narratives, and exercising real social and political power in Utah.
SLCIPA is currently organizing around key issues identified directly by immigrant community members:
• Defending the rights and dignity of local day laborers and working-class immigrants
Protecting jornaleros from exploitation, unsafe conditions, and unconstitutional enforcement, while building their leadership and collective power.
• Ending harmful collaborations that target immigrant and undocumented community members
Challenging local–federal practices that lead to detention, deportation, and discriminatory policing.
• Implementing a countywide Know Your Rights campaign
- Ensuring that community members understand their rights and can safely interact with law enforcement and ICE.

Tell Joe Biden to to act to deliver relief to undocumented immigrants living in the US
Voters want permanent solutions for undocumented immigrants. President Biden must now do what he has the power to do via executive action: end deportations, end police-ICE agreements, close detention centers and create a PATHWAY TO CITIZENSHIP.
