Comunidades Unidas in Washington D.C!

Last month the Youth Group from Comunidades Unidas had the opportunity to go to Washington, D.C.  to advocate on HR 6 The Dream and Promise Act as well as to speak with our Senators and House Representatives regarding funding used for immigration enforcement.

The young leaders attended a conference where we learned more about HR 6 which would protect those who qualify for DACA or TPS to continue fulfilling their dreams without the fear of deportation. The youth were able to network and make connections with other young adults who were Undocumented, DACAmented, and Dreamers from all over the country who were there with the same goals.

They had the opportunity to meet with staff members from Senators Mitt Romney and Mike Lee’s office and House Representatives John Curtis and Ben McAdams, who we managed to snag a picture!
