October 2018: Welcome to the Latin America Weeks of Health

For the past 10 years, the Latin American Weeks of Health cultivates community solidarity by bringing together existing resources, different community organization, state and federal government, Promotoras (Community Health Workers), students and volunteers working together for a common goal. The events are coordinated by the collaboration among community and government agencies from the U.S., Mexico, and other Latin American countries with the purpose of reaching out to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people, especially those without medical insurance coverage. This year the main topics that will be addressed are mental health, seniors health, children health, women's health, sexual health, and health insurance coverage (open enrollment).

As we are getting ready for the Latin American Weeks of Health 2018, we invite you to be a part of this great nationwide initiative. This year we are excited to announce that our services will be in Salt Lake City, Midvale, West Valley City, Park City, Provo, St George, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We feel honored by having the national closing ceremony at the Midvale Community Building Community (CBC) Health Fai. Representatives from the Mexican Government, US Government and local agencies will establish meaningful initiatives that will ensure the well-being of our migrant and Latinx community.

For many community members, this will be the only opportunity they have during the year to get a medical checkup. For that reason, every year we see more enthusiasm from our partners in providing quality health services and information to our communities.

Attached you will find the calendar with all the events happening during the Latin American Weeks of Health.
