This year Comunidades Unidas will be celebrating our 23rd anniversary. After more than two decades of serving the community, we have decided to revisit our mission, vision, and values statements. In the first stages of the process, we knew that we wanted our mission, vision, and values to reflect how CU has changed over the years and accurately represent our current work and community impact. Throughout the entire rewriting and revision process, we have received input from staff, board members, promotorxs, and community members. Finally, we feel that we have an accurate representation of who we are as an organization. We are excited to announce that we will be presenting our new mission, vision, and values statements at our 23rd-anniversary celebration this year. We hope our community will join us as we open a new chapter in our history while reflecting on our past experiences that have brought us to where we are today. Please join us for a night of celebration and new beginnings at Kiitos Brewing (608 W. 700 S. Salt Lake City, UT) on September 9, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
As we celebrate our 23 anniversary, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what we have accomplished in the last year alone. Every client interaction, rally, and community event contributes to our success as an organization and demonstrates that our work is more than an act of service to the community but a labor of love.
We want to thank you all; without funders, donors and partners like you we would not be the organization we are today. We also want to thank our community members for organizing with us and supporting us in the last 23 years. You are at the heart of what we do, and we will always be a safe space for immigrants and Latinx families to gather. Lastly, we want to thank our promotorxs and staff members, through your dedication and hard work we have navigated the COVID-19 pandemic and brought essential services to our community members. Without our promotorxs, we would never have been able to serve and organize the Latinx and immigrant community in such an impactful way. We hope to see you all on Friday, September 9th at our 23rd anniversary event.
